Have a success story to share or inspiring people to work hard on their start up? Amazing, but hold on. Do you have a way to talk it out? In any of the cases, you may have an idea what to talk about. But the question is how you should talk about it? Having lots of ideas but no words is just a thumbs down. Having a lot of knowledge and information but no confidence to speak is another turndown.

Of course, preparation and practice are the two main keys to any motivational speech. Other than that, here are a few tips for you to conquer the fear of public speaking.

Start with:

1) Introduction: Win your audience’s interest by introducing yourself. Use peculiar title or phrase that would want them to hear you more. Leave an impact on the audience by keeping it short and powerful.

2) The pitch: Now this is where you need to be clear in mind that you are about to make a sale. Discuss the problems, give audience their solution through your idea or the product. Show that fierce confidence in your product so that the audience starts believing in you and your product.

3) The audience: Let not the speech be just about “I me and myself”. Make it about “them”. Audience has the power either to make you or break you. Know your audience, whether they are investors, CEOs, or potential customers. Figure out what they are looking for and then deliver. Think why they have come to you, what matters to them and why should they come back to you.

4) The story: Better way to make an instant connection with the audience is to share personal experiences. Tell all. How it started, the journey, hardships, results, everything that could possibly develop interest in consumers’ minds. Discuss client case studies. Explain how it changed your life for better and how it can change theirs. Develop a story around it and make it engaging for the audience.

5) The USP: Competition is tough in the market. Why should people remember you? What is it that one thing for which people should keep coming back at you? The answer is what you want them to know about you, so said Steve Jobs. Focus on what is unique. Give a little detail about the business and then come back again at your unique selling point.

6) Little bit of wit: That’s absolutely necessary. Don’t make it sound boring by going into the details of everything. Keep the environment light. Crack little jokes. Just take it easy.

7) Suit up: Other than speaking right, it’s necessary for you to look good as well. Suit up and deliver a Legen-Wait for It-Dary speech.
