Happy International Women’s Day!!

 

March 8th, a day dedicated to celebrating grace, persistence, creativity, brilliance, passion, love, bold, peace, growth, independence, and worthy.

 

Women all over the world have been fighting for gender equality, gender pay parity, equal rights, and more. A lot has been done, a lot is still left.

 

However, women were strong then and women are strong now.

 

We are proud to celebrate this women’s day with all those women who have changed this world and who are shaping this world for good.

  • Malala Yousafzai:

Fearless and fierce. Malala Yousafzai stood for every girl in the world who was deprived of education. She openly supported the right to education for everyone in this world. Even the bullet in her head didn’t scare her. Her courage had inspired everyone across the globe so much that today she is a name that everyone is proud of.

 

  • Rosa Parks:

Rosa Parks

 

Rosa Parks, a black seamstress who refused to give her seat to a white man on an Alabama City Bus, triggered civil rights movement in the United States. The local black community came forward in support of Parks and organized a bus boycott. She fought for equal rights for her community. Parks was known to be a recognized symbol of dignity and strength in the struggle to end deep rooted racism.

 

  • Billie Jean King:

Billie Jean King

 

Her accomplishments in tennis are well known. She has won 39 Grand Slam titles. Founder of professional women’s tennis, co-founder of the women’s sport foundation, first sportswoman to win $100,000 in a one-year period and more. She was a hero on and off court. She campaigned for equal prize money in the men’s and women’s games. She continued to raise her voice until U.S. Open became the first tournament to offer equal prize money to both sexes.

 

  • Maya Angelou:

Maya Angelou used her talent to change people's mindset. Her contribution to society is impeccable. Her contributions include film, acting, literature, education, and civil right activism. She was so influential that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. chose her to speak against racism and inequality. Maya Angelou organized events to promote awareness of alarming concerns such as race and freedom.

 

  • Marie Curie:

Marie Curie

 

Polish born physicist, Marie Curie was one of the famous scientists of her time. She was a bright student as a kid. She was a curious student. Always fascinated by science. She learned a lot from her father who was a teacher. As she grew up, she got married and worked with her husband. Along with her husband Pierre, identified two new elements: Radium and Polonium. She also invented the word- Radioactivity. She developed effective cures for cancer. Marie Curie was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize.

 

  • Mother Teresa:

Mother Teresa will be forever in our hearts. She has done so much for society that she will be remembered generations to generations. She was an Albanian-Indian Roman Catholic nun and missionary. She dedicated herself in the service of mankind. She opened hospitals for people suffering from deadly diseases. She opened schools for kids in slums. Came to rescue people stuck in war-torn zones. Her contributions to society are just selfless. We cannot ever thank her enough for what she had done for the people.

 

  • Angelina Jolie:

Angelina Jolie

 

Angelina, being a superstar, took a responsibility to serve people around the world. She is such an inspiration to so many young women out there. She supports refugees and spreads awareness and respect for them. Her charity work addresses issues like abuse, fostering, orphans, poverty, women, and more. She is a giver and that has been proved time and again when she adopted three children. She is a queen of hearts.

 

  • Coco Chanel:

Coco Chanel

 

Coco Chanel revolutionized the way women dressed up. She has been an icon of women empowerment. She wanted women to be strong, classy and fashionable at the same time. With her crazy wild ideas, she transformed the way women wore their clothes. She made sure women wear comfortable clothes and look red carpet ready too. She introduced some of the best fashion trends that we still die for. LBD, trousers, jerseys and our very own Chanel suit. The influence that Coco Chanel holds in the fashion industry is commendable.

 

There are numerous women out there who are just so amazing and shaping this world to be a better place to live in. The list is endless, and unfortunately we cannot name all of them. But we salute their hard work, passion, and talent.
